Nicholas Chung is a PhD student studying the histories and theories of architecture at Harvard University. He is interested in how pedagogical and research methods enabled repeated efforts to emulate outcomes of modernization, particularly across Eastern Asia throughout the twentieth century. Nicholas holds a Master's in Design Studies from Harvard GSD (with Distinction), and a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University (Summa Cum Laude with a minor in Geography). Prior to doctoral studies, he co-curated From Utopia to Ubiquity at the Yale School of Architecture (2025) and was the Curatorial Assistant for Architecture’s Inscriptions at the TANK Shanghai (2026). Nicholas received the 2025 Dimitris Pikionis Award, and his design work has been presented at the Busan Architectural Festival (2022) and Hong Kong-Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale (2021).
